India congratulates PM Hasina on polls victory

Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Kumar Verma has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for winning of the Awami League at the 12th Parliamentary election.

Pranay Verma conveyed the greetings and congratulations to Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while paying a courtesy call on her at the official residence Ganabhaban on Monday.

The Indian High Commissioner conveyed the message to Sheikh Hasina on behalf of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He expressed hope that during the new term of her government, there will be even stronger momentum and growth in the bilateral partnership in support of each other’s national development.

He noted that India will continue to support the people of Bangladesh in realising their vision of a stable, progressive and prosperous nation, guided by their long-standing friendship and inspired by their shared sacrifices of the Liberation War.
