Sylhettoday Desk |  ১৪ অক্টোবর, ২০২৫

Brazil suffered a shocking defeat to Japan in an international friendly match. With a stunning comeback, the Asian side defeated the five-time world champions for the first time in history.

On their Asia tour, after thrashing South Korea 5-0 in their opening match, Brazil took a two-goal lead on Tuesday but still fell to Japan. The champions crumbled despite their early dominance.

In the 3-2 victory for Japan, Brazil's goals came from Luiz Henrique and Gabriel Martinelli. Japan fought back with strikes from Takumi Minamino, Keito Nakamura, and Ayase Ueda to secure the win.

This marked Japan's first triumph over Brazil after 14 previous attempts.

Ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Brazil appointed legendary Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. Under his tenure, this was Brazil's second loss, following an earlier defeat to Bolivia in World Cup qualifying.
