Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal passes away

Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal has passed away. The actress breathed her last at her residence on Friday. She was 98 years old at the time of her death.

After a seven-decade-long journey in cinema, a witness to a golden era bids farewell.

The family has stated that Kamini Kaushal led a simple life and has requested everyone to respect their private time following her demise. The actress worked as a co-star with many renowned heroes, from Dilip Kumar to Shah Rukh Khan.

Born in 1927, the actress made her Bollywood debut in 1946 with the film Neecha Nagar. Her very first film reached the Cannes Film Festival, creating a stir on the international stage. This marked the beginning of her long, successful, and illustrious career.

From the black-and-white era to the colour screen—her commanding presence shone everywhere. She worked with legends like Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar, while also leaving her mark on modern Bollywood. She was seen in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express as well.

She acted in numerous significant films, including Do Bhai, Shaheed, Nadiya Ke Paar, Ziddi, Shabnam, Arzoo, Jhanjhar, Aabroo, Jailor, and Godaan. Even in recent times, she remained active in work; she appeared in Kabir Singh and Laal Singh Chaddha as well.

After a long acting journey, she bids goodbye today. She leaves behind a rich legacy, countless memorable characters, and stories that will illuminate generations to come.
