Medical Student Found Dead at Home in Sylhet

A 22-year-old medical student, Prima Sharma, was found hanging in her room at her family residence in Sylhet on Saturday morning.

Police recovered the body around 10:30am from the Korairpara area under Jalalabad Police Station. Prima was a second-year MBBS student at Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College.

According to police, family members discovered her hanging from a ceiling fan in her room and immediately rushed her to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Jalalabad Police said that initial findings suggest a case of suicide, but the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination. The body has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
