13 Killed in Bagerhat Bus-Microbus Collision, 10 from Same Family

At least 13 people were killed in a tragic road accident on Thursday (March 12) around 4:30 PM at Gonai Bridge on the Khulna-Bagerhat highway. Among the deceased, 10 members belong to the same family.

According to information from the scene, the accident occurred when a Navy passenger bus and a microbus collided head-on.

Cutkhali Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Hasan told reporters that two of the victims were children.

Dr. Sukanta Kumar Pal, Health and Family Planning Officer of Rampal Upazila, said that eight of the bodies have been taken to Khulna Medical College (Khulna Medical College Hospital – Khumek), while the remaining were sent to Bagerhat General Hospital. Several injured individuals have also been admitted to Khumek Hospital.

Local authorities and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and are conducting emergency rescue and recovery operations.
