To celebrate International May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025, a grand rally was organized by the Jagannathpur Upazila Administration in Sunamganj. Various professionals and members of the public participated in the event, which began on Thursday (May 1) at 10:30 AM.

The rally started in front of the Upazila Parishad building, marched through different roads, and concluded at the Upazila premises.

Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad hallroom, presided over by Jagannathpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Riyad Bin Ibrahim Bhuiyan.

Speakers at the event included Jagannathpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Zainal Hossain, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Khaled Saifullah, Plant Protection Officer Tapan Chandra Shil, Upazila Academic Supervisor Arup Roy, journalists Humayun Kabir Faridi and Abdul Hai, General Secretary of Jagannathpur Upazila Press Club Shahjahan, journalists Fuzail Ahmed and Taiyabur Rahman, and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Jagannathpur branch) Motiur Rahman, among others.

Also present were Jagannathpur Police Station SI (Special Branch) Jasim Uddin, Ansar VDP Officer Nurul Islam, Jagannathpur Fire Service In-Charge Murshed Ahmed, executive member of the Jagannathpur Journalists' Forum Md. Mukim Uddin, along with local workers and employees.
