A school banking conference was organized in Sylhet with the participation of all banks operating in Sylhet along with a large number of students, teachers, parents and guardians.

Dhaka Bank has organized the conference as the Lead Bank under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank.

The Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank drives the school banking conference in every district of the country to aware the students about banking and financial services and instil the habit of savings in the young generation right from a young age.

The countrywide awareness programme is part of the financial inclusion and financial literacy initiative of Bangladesh Bank. Through this engagement, the students are familiarized with modern banking with technology and banking services available to them.

A total of 50 numbers of bank operating in Sylhet participated in the conference held at Aman Ullah Convension Centre of the city on July 15, 2023.

Saiful Islam, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, Sylhet Office, attended the conference as the chief guest. Md. Iqbal Mohsin, Additional Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank and Sylhet District Education Officer Abu Syed Mr. Abdul Wadud were presented the occition as special guest.

H M Mustafizur Rahman, Head of retail business of Dhaka Bank presided over the meeting. The programme were conducted by One Bank officer Sukanta Gupta and Rohena Dipu.

The conference began with a rally in the morning. Bangladesh Bank conducted an engaging quiz contest for the participating students and awarded the winner prizes. The participants enjoyed musical and dance performances conducted by Nilangana Jui, Pallavi Das Mou, Pradeep Mallik and Tanni Deb.
