The Falun Dafa Information Center, through spokesperson Albert Roman, has protested two articles by S.M. Nurnobi published by Sylhettoday24 on October 14 and 15, 2025, titled “The Essence of Falun Gong: A Cult, Money Laundering, and Disinformation” and “Why American Writer and Educator John Huntington Does Not Recommend Shen Yun.”

In an email sent on October 19, 2025, Roman demanded their removal, correction, or the inclusion of Falun Dafa’s response, citing inaccuracies and alignment with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda against Falun Gong and Shen Yun.

The Center refutes claims portraying Shen Yun performers as “secretive,” clarifying that hundreds live in private homes and work professionally, like millions of Falun Gong practitioners in over 100 countries. Allegations of performer mistreatment and “child trafficking,” sourced from the New York Times, are denied, with evidence suggesting accusers’ ties to the CCP. The “cult” label is dismissed as a CCP tactic to justify 26 years of persecution, while Falun Gong’s principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance underpin its non-violent resistance. Over 760 performers and 800 family members have endorsed Shen Yun’s supportive environment, countering unproven claims.

Sylhettoday24, respecting the author’s freedom of expression, declined to remove the articles but agreed to publish the Center’s protest letter for fairness.
