A Jubo Dal leader named Golam Kibria was shot and killed in the Pallabi area of the capital.
The shooting took place on Monday (November 17) in the C-Block area behind Mirpur Pallabi Police Station. Locals later rescued him and took him to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Around 9:00 PM, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DMP’s Mirpur Division, Mohammad Makshuder Rahman, confirmed Golam Kibria’s death.
He said, “A leader of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal was shot and killed this evening. We are investigating who carried out the shooting.”
According to police sources, around 6:40 PM, Golam Kibria, Member Secretary of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal, was sitting inside Bikrampur Hardware and Sanitary shop located in Pallabi Section-12. At that time, three miscreants arrived on a motorcycle. The trio then entered the shop and fired seven rounds at point-blank range — targeting his head, chest, and back with a pistol.
During the incident, locals managed to capture one of the attackers, though his identity is still unknown.
Police said terrorist Sohel and his associates entered the shop and fired seven rounds. Seven spent cartridges have been recovered from the scene.
